I have a lot of knitting books. A whole lot. But I still think my first one is kind of the best. '
Kids Knitting
, by Melanie Falick.
I taught myself to knit from this book about thirteen years ago. It has clear, colorful illustrations and directions, the photography is inspiring and the projects simple. I still recommend this book to beginning knitters -- even adults.
I've had this project queued since I first flipped through the book. Initially, I thought I would make it for my little sister for Christmas. I even had some purple cotton yarn. I never made it and she is now almost 11.
We had a whole slew of birthdays and gift giving occasions this past December, including a party for a sweet little friend who loves her bath time. And so, 13 years later, the kitty bath scrubber got made. With Blue Sky Alpaca Organic Cotton and some vintage buttons. Given with a few fancy little bath foam unicorn-adorned packets.
Definitely recommended.
