Hi!
We're still basically in vacation mode, here. Sebastian has been taking resumes around to restaurants; I've been putting in some time at the library on a research gig; but mostly, we're just taking it easy in this last week all together.
A few things:
I picked up this book at the thrift store just before christmas, and finished it a couple of days ago. It was just what I needed. One of those books which, after you finish, is hard to follow up with a new one, as you get so absorbed in the world of the story. Fortunately, I found Jane Hamilton's second book
at another thrift store the other day (very different narrator; equally heartbreaking).
I love this idea. Not the right timing for us, but maybe next year.
Also, I haven't had much time to read blogs lately, but after discovering this one, I sat down and scrolled through pretty much all of it. Absolutely lovely.
We had a family gathering to celebrate Quinn's third birthday on Saturday night (his real birthday is tomorrow). Seb made pizza (over a dozen of them) and I made Heidi Swanson's greenest salad. Everyone wanted the recipe -- so here it is!
Speaking of parties, I've been using paperless post to send out email invites for the past couple of years. They have some really great (mostly free) options for all kinds of celebrations. This is our most recent one.
Happy Monday!
+Chelsea
